About Us
Music4Life String Orchestra is a non-profit, community-driven orchestra based in Ajax, Ontario, dedicated to making orchestral music accessible, inclusive, and inspiring. We welcome string musicians of all ages and skill levels, offering a supportive space to learn, grow, and perform together.
What makes us unique? Our members rehearse and perform alongside skilled music educators and professional musicians, creating a rich learning environment that enhances musical growth beyond traditional private lessons. Whether you're a beginner, rekindling a past passion, or an experienced player looking to give back, there's a place for you here.
More than just an orchestra, we are a community—sharing the joy of music through public concerts and special performances. Our advanced players have the opportunity to showcase their talents in quartet and quintet performances at community and private events, bringing music to new audiences and enriching our cultural landscape.
Music Director and Conductor
Toronto-based, Travis Grubissi brings a unique blend of creative vision and leadership to every ensemble he directs. A graduate of York University, he has cultivated a rich career across film, theatre and concert music, and is especially recognized for his work as conductor and collaborator.
Travis is currently serving as co-conductor of the Metropolitan Winds of Toronto, where his dynamic rehearsal style and thoughtful interpretation helped the ensemble deliver engaging performances. He has also guest-conducted the Rouge River Winds (formerly the UTSC Community Band), bringing fresh insight and enthusiasm to the group’s artistic work. We are delighted to welcome Travis to our stage. His commitment to musical integrity and his warm, collaborative approach promise an inspired and memorable performance for both our musicians and audience.
